NOTICE TO LEGAL PRACTITIONERS, POLICE, CORRECTIONS, TERRITORY FAMILIES and COURT USERS REGARDING THE DARWIN CHILDREN’S COURT

The TCG Court facility will remain closed up to and including Tuesday, 8 February 2022.

All youth matters not in detention previously listed on 4 February have been adjourned to 11 February, at 10am per the previous notice (Notice 5/2022). Any bail and bail conditions continue until that time. Youth will be excused from attending if the matter is not to finalise.

All matters listed on 7 and 8 February 2022 will be heard via MS Teams from the Darwin Local Court at Nichols Place. All youth on bail or summons are excused from attending.

All youth in detention will appear via video from the Don Dale centre.

Youth in detention for new matters or breach of bail will be heard via MS Teams from Don Dale to the Darwin Local Court at Nichols Place.

Parents may attend by video or telephone.

Leave is granted for appearances via MS Teams or telephone. If you require virtual appearance via MS Teams or telephone, complete the notification of virtual appearance to ensure the Court has the relevant information. If Teams can be facilitated a link will be sent as per the procedure outlined in the virtual appearance guide.

This notice may be updated from time to time.
