NOTICE TO LEGAL PRACTITIONERS, POLICE, CORRECTIONS and COURT USERS REGARDING INTERRUPTION TO DARWIN LOCAL COURT SITTINGS ON 19 APRIL 2022

Due to an unexpected interruption to power supply at the Darwin Local Court, located at Nichols Place, Darwin, court matters not reached by around 11.45am were unable to proceed. Only the Bail and Arrest list and the Personal Violence application list were impacted.

In-Custody matters
All matters involving persons in custody are adjourned to Wednesday, 20 April, to appear by video. All people in custody were returned to the correctional facility and may be available to provide instructions to their legal presentation via video or telephone this afternoon. Counsel should contact the Darwin Correctional Centre.

Non-Custody matters
All other matters involving persons not in custody are adjourned to Thursday, 21 April at 9.30am. Bail is to continue on the same terms and conditions.
Any associated domestic violence applications are also adjourned to either 20 or 21 April, with the current order continuing.

Personal Violence application list
All matters were adjourned in consultation with parties to a future date. If there are any queries, please contact the Civil registry.
